The Rage That's Not On Your Front Page
The Rage That's Not On Your Front Page
By Michelle Malkin
When a few unruly McCain-Palin supporters show their anger at campaign rallies, it's national news. It's an epidemic of "Weimar-like rage" and "violent escalation of rhetoric," according to New York Times columnist Frank Rich. It's the "re-emergence of the far right as a power in American politics," according to Washington Post columnist E.J. Dionne. It's a mass movement of GOP crowds "gripped by insane rage," according to newly minted Nobel Prize winner Paul Krugman.
Too bad they don't give out global awards for the Blindest Eyes in Punditocracy. We've just hit a trifecta.
Are a few activists on the right getting out of hand? Probably. Between massive ACORN voter fraud, Bill Ayers' and Jeremiah Wright's unrepentant hatred of America, and John McCain's inability to nail Barack Obama on his longtime alliances with all of the above, conservatives have plenty to shout about these days.
But a couple of random catcallers do not a mob make. And there's an overflowing abundance of electoral rage on the left that won't make it onto your newspaper's front page.
Last month on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, a small, brave contingent of McCain supporters marched through the streets with campaign signs. They were met by a menacing horde of New Yorkers who displayed their disapproval with a barrage of jeers and vulgar gestures. ("The number of middle fingers in the 'progressive crowd' is directly proportional to the number of Ph.D. degrees in the 10-block radius," one of the witnesses wryly observed.) A YouTube video of the confrontation now has nearly half a million views (www.youtube.com and search "Pro-McCain March in Manhattan"). But don't expect to find it on the nightly news. It doesn't fit the Angry Right narrative.
Neither does the near-riotous reaction of Obama supporters to a McCain-Palin sign in Democrat-dominated Prince George's County, Md. Buried in a back local section, The Washington Post reported this week that "pandemonium" broke loose when an unsuspecting businessman erected a "Country First. McCain/Palin." message on the marquee at his Colony South Hotel & Conference Center.
"Operators of neighborhood e-mail group lists cried foul to their memberships. The NAACP logged calls. Community leaders demanded boycotts of the hotel, a common venue for Democratic events," the little-noticed article reported. A black professor called the sign "a stink bomb in the middle of the living room" of Obama land. The poor hotel manager, Alan Vahabzadeh, surrendered. "I didn't even realize it was going to be like this."
Can't blame him for missing the fiery hint from Portland, Ore. -- where two deranged vandals were arrested after throwing a Molotov cocktail at a McCain yard sign in the middle of the night. Nope, that didn't make it into the columns of Rich, Dionne or Krugman. Doesn't fit the Angry Right narrative.
Speaking of "violent escalation of rhetoric" you never hear about:
Obama supporters in Philadelphia sported "Sarah Palin is a [disgusting vulgarism referring to female genitalia]" T-shirts and yelled, "Let's stone her, old school" over the weekend.
An Internet artist has designated Palin an "M.I.L.P." -- "Mother I'd Like to Punch" -- and published a drawing of a man's fist knocking a tooth out of the Alaska governor's mouth and the glasses off her face.
"ABORT Palin" graffiti has sprouted on the sidewalks of Seattle, and "Abort Sarah Palin" bumper stickers are spreading in Web stores.
-- Palin-bashing Madonna performs before an audience of thousands, screeching and threatening to "kick her a**."
-- Getty Images publishes a photo of a man pointing a fake gun at the head of a cardboard cutout of Palin on display at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition building.
And no one blinks. Not a peep from the Obamedia.
But when Palin simply spotlights Obama's longtime relationship with Weather Underground terrorist Bill "We Didn't Do Enough" Ayers?
"Inciting violence," frets NBC reporter Ron Allen. "Concerned ... for Sen. Obama's safety," agonizes ABC reporter Terry Moran. "Beyond the pale," cries Obama campaign manager David Plouffe. As if the no-holds-barred Obama campaign has ever had a rhetorical pale to stake.
All the world's a Kabuki stage for the selectively outraged over rage.

Joe Biden addresses the DNC
Isn't it strange that Obama should pick someone whose name, combined with his own, reinforces the confusion with the name of America's arch enemy ? Obama/Biden sounds a lot like Osama Bin Laden.
Pres. Bill Clinton's Speech at DNC '08
Why are the Clintons so strongly endorsing Obama - whom they themselves have said or implied that is not ready to be Commander-in-Chief ? I guess they have little choice, for the sake of party unity. Let's hope their legacy will not be dragged down by their "forced" endorsement of Obama.

Obama's beliefs contradict basic Christian teachings
As I have always suspected, Obama is not a true Christian, as he claims. He does not belief in 2 core Christian beliefs, i.e.
1) God created all things (without evolution).
2) There is only one way to Heaven - by putting our faith in Jesus Christ.
Without believing in these 2 central tenets of Christianity, he cannot be considered a true Christian.
The above can be gleaned from the following article :
"Obama shares beliefs about Islam and evolution"
GRANTHAM, Pennsylvania - Barack Obama has described himself as a devout Christian but believes
Islam can be compatible with the modern world.
Obama's comments came last night at a event sponsored by Messiah College in Pennsylvania called
the " Compassion Forum."
Obama also declared that he believes in evolution, but also believes that God created the universe.
The Illinois senator has drawn attention to his theological beliefs a number of times during
the last few weeks. As an example, contrary to what the Bible teaches about Jesus being the
only way of salvation, Obama has stated that people of other religions who do good works are
also children of God.
Obama's theology was also questioned last month when YouTube videos of his former pastor,
Jeremiah Wright, appeared. The videos showed several excerpts of Wright"s sermons, including
one in 2003 when he denounced the United States for its treatment of blacks. "The government
gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law, and then wants us to
sing God Bless America," shouts Wright. "No, no, no, not God Bless America -- God d___ America,
it's in the Bible for killing innocent people."

Top Ten Reasons why Hillary is still the Best Choice
Just as David Letterman has his Top Ten lists, I would like to offer my own Top Ten List on why I think Hillary Clinton, for all her flaws, is still the Best Choice for the next President of the United States. The list is in no particular order and is NOT tongue-in-cheek.
1) She is a woman
For the first time in the history of US presidents, we have a real possibility of electing a woman as President. I think most people would agree that the differences between a man and a woman are much more significant than those between different races, i.e. between an African American and a white American. So now that for the first time we have a very qualified woman running for the highest office in the land, we should at least give the gender a chance to finally prove itself. It would be the ultimate statement on the equality of the sexes. (For the record, I am a Chinese male). Besides, I think it would be good for the world's only superpower to be run by a woman for a change.
2) She is neither too old (like McCain) or too young (like Obama).
Senator Mccain would be the oldest person to become a US President if he were to be elected and with his medical history of skin cancer, would make a rather risky choice. (The Republicans better have a younger VP on standby). Senator Obama is young at 46 and although I agree that age is not everything, I still feel that he is too youthful looking to command enough respect. If he were to be elected, I'm sure most of his staff in the White House as well as the army generals that he will be commanding would be older than him, which I believe may have consequences in the long term. The recent Senate hearings where Obama was shown questioning General Petraeus and US Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker is a case in point. In my opinion, Obama appeared uncomfortable and was stuttering during his short interrogation of the two honorable men. However, as he began to warm up, he became his usual arrogant self by repeating his "I told you so" line in saying that he felt that it was a strategic mistake to have gone into Iraq in the first place. I thought this was an ill-timed and insensitive remark aimed exclusively at his target audience- the MSM who love him so and his blind followers.
3) She does not belong to a racist church and does not have an America-hating pastor as a spiritual mentor.
That Barack Obama is still unwilling to completely dissociate himself from the Reverend Wright and his white-supremacist church after all that has happened by itself should have already disqualified him to be the next President. Just remember that if Obama becomes President, he will still belong to this radical church and will still be getting advice from Rev. Wright. That thought alone should send shivers down everyone's spine.
4) She is still gorgeous at 60.
Although some may argue that Obama is the best looking among the remaining three candidates, I feel that it is Hillary who is still the best-looking and photogenic (her wrinkles actually make her look more respectable ) among the three. The fact that Elton John, who also admired Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana, would also openly "endorse" Hillary is testament to the fact that he thinks that she is at least as beautiful and enigmatic as the other two icons. Of course this is supposed to be a "serious" discussion and the President of the United States should not be elected based on his/her looks, but hey, it helps ! Would you rather see a geriatric white-haired man's photo splashed on your newspaper almost every day for the next 4 years ?
5) She's got the right experience.
Her detractors will of course pooh-pooh this reason, especially after her Bosnia flap. But I think if you were to look at the larger picture, I think her "35 years" of experience does count for something- if anything, her experience is still much more than can be said for Obama. As for McCain, I think his experience is more in the military sense, which is why he recently admitted that he does not know much about the economy- a scary thought indeed especially since the US economy seems headed for a recession. Hillary's expeience is more wide-ranging and her many years of meeting with foreign dignitaries (with or without sniper fire in the background) will definitely give her an edge when it comes to foreign affairs. In terms of the economy, the fact that America prospered under the Clinton Administration and the fact that the Clintons have been able to accumulate so much wealth over the past few years (as shown by the recent release of Hillary's tax returns) would at least point to the fact that the Clintons know a thing or two about making money. That would indeed be a very reassuring thought as America possibly slips into a recession this year (as predicted by experts).
6) She was RIGHT on Iraq.
Yes, she voted for the war, or rather, to authorize the possible use of force against Iraq. But so did most of her colleagues in the Senate at the time, based on the overwhelming evidence presented to them. I believe that going into Iraq and getting rid of Saddam Hussein was the RIGHT thing to do at the time as nobody knew for sure really whether Saddam did indeed possess weapons of mass destruction at that time. Thus if the US had not invaded Iraq at that time, it would have been like sitting on a time bomb. Would anyone have forgiven President Bush or Hillary, for that matter, if Saddam Hussein did indeed possess WMD and used it on the US or one of its allies ?
7) She does not have a name which reminds people of terrorists and tyrants.
Unlike Barack Hussein Obama, she does not need to hide her middle name. Can you imagine if Obama were to become President, that for the next 4-8 years, nobody in America or the rest of the world will be allowed to use the "H" word when referring to the US President ? And what about all the newspapers in the world who may occasionally mis-spell Obama's name as "Osama" ? (Disastrous)
8) She does not have to keep trying to convince people about her religion.
Like it or not, most Americans would still want their President to be a Christian. That is why Obama has to try so hard to dispel rumours that he was/is a Muslim. Even now, I think that not everyone is convinced about his professed Christian beliefs, especially since the church that he goes to also embraces Islam by openly supporting the Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.
9) She has character.
She has shown herself to have the strength and fortitude to withstand months of intense criticism and downright hatred from all sides of the political landscape and still remain standing. Furthermore, by her ability to forgive her husband, Bill after all his affairs, she has shown the strength of her character and demonstrated the true Christian virtues of love and forgiveness. Thus when I saw her giving that speech to mark the anniversary of MLK's assassination when she quoted from the Bible - "love your enemies", I felt that she probably had Bill in mind too. I do not subscribe to the belief that she did that because of her own selfish ambition because I do not think any normal person would be willing to sacrifice her own dignity for the sake of a chance at becoming the next President.
And last but not least, in fact I think this is the MOST important reason :
10) She is married to the right person.
Unlike Obama, who has still got to fend off criticism about his wife's lack of pride in the country and McCain, who is married to someone who looks heavily botoxed and seems to like to always appear on his side (to make him look better I suppose), Hillary can rightly say that her spouse is still and will always be her greatest asset. What better asset can one have than to be married to an ex-President who arguably, apart from his lack of control of his libido, was one of the most successful and popular US Presidents ? I started of this article by stating that one of Hillary's strong points was just the fact that she is a woman. As the saying goes, "Behind every successful man, there is a woman". This it can be inferred that part or most of Bill Clinton's success as a President could have been due to Hillary. Now that the tables are turned, I think it would be very reassuring to know that when that 3 am phone call comes and Hillary were to answer it, she can always turn to an ex-President (who would hopefully be sleeping next to her)for some advice.
1) She is a woman
For the first time in the history of US presidents, we have a real possibility of electing a woman as President. I think most people would agree that the differences between a man and a woman are much more significant than those between different races, i.e. between an African American and a white American.
